Celebration of Dance 2012
As in the past, our goal in this recital was to provide students of many forms of dance an opportunity at stage performance. We did that with 21 short dance selections covering Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary Dance and Ballet dance styles. This was followed by selections from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Ballet. The staging and choreography of each dance was done by the instructor for the Ballet Arts dance class.
The photo slideshows accessed in the right-hand column have photgraphs from the dances, each dance with its own slideshow. The photos were taken at the performance on June 9, 2012 by Cam Ly, a friend of Ballet Arts, who volunteered his talents and time. The "View" element in the photo slideshow on the upper left of the webpage has a dropdown menu to access either the slideshow or information about the dance. Under "About these photos" you will find the name of the instructor responsible for staging and choreographing the dance. Stage lighting for most of the dance selections was created by Brett Weidlich who also called the show.
