Recital 2010

As in the past, our goal in this recital was to keep the overall performance of 24 dance numbers to under two hours. Seven of our dance teachers choreographed the various numbers and coached the students. The gamut of art dance forms was represented. Zina Arten, Linda Lewis, Linda Poff and Melisa Sutherland presented ballet performances for various ages. Ben Wolff choreographed the Hip Hop numbers and his students looked like they were having a good time. Linda Lewis presented a Modern Dance selection titled Moonlight Sonata. Danielle Towne choreographed two Jazz selections, featuring classic rock and roll standards. Victoria Moore gave us several Tap numbers spanning a wide range of class ages and styles from Together for the little tappers to Fame for advanced tap students.

We thank Lida Mazina and Alexa Kernan who danced with our youngest dancers on stage so they could follow. Kelsey Koenig and Ashlyn Lewis assisted backstage with the critical costume changes (dancers in multiple dance numbers sometimes have as little as 4 minutes to change costumes and shoes). We wish to thank all the volunteers who helped keep the dancers together and deliver them backstage at the right time as well as those who helped accent some of the costumes and provide check in and security for the backstage operation.

The photo slide show accessed in the right column has one to three photos from the show selections. Kathy Koenig was kind enough to take the pictures for this performance. As always, all credit for over-exposing, cropping without regard to content, and photo selection should be credited to Ballet Arts.
