Starlight
Our Starlight page introduces some of CCBC's Star Dancers. Presented here is Mary Daniels, a featured dancer with CCBC for the last four years. Mary is a versatile dancer who studies jazz, tap and character dance as well as advanced ballet. Her friendly smile and eager support of her classmates and performance colleagues have won her many friends at Ballet Arts. Mary is a dedicated dancer who constantly looks for ways to challenge herself in class and rehearsal. She has earned many difficult performance roles including lead Arabian dancer in Nutcracker 2004, the Justice fairy and Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty 2007 and the Spanish variations in Swan Lake and in Nutcracker. On this page you can see a small sampling of Mary's talent through performance photos and video clips.
For the Nutcracker 2007 performance the role of Clara was split with a younger girl dancing Clara in Act 1, and Mary Daniels dancing Clara after the Nutcracker doll turns into a handsome prince near the end of Act 1. Photos from this performance are now included in the slideshow at the start. Also, video clips of Mary's performance have been added at the start of the video player playlist.
All of the photos in the slideshow below were taken at live CCBC performances. The same is true of the video clips available through the Flash player embedded below. The video clips range from less than 3MB to over 6MB in size.
