Starlight
Our Starlight page introduces some of CCBC's Star Dancers. Presented here is Paige Weller, a featured dancer with CCBC. Paige started dancing in CCBC productions at an early age and has appeared in Paquita, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker and Swan Lake often with different roles over the years. Our photo selections below include some of her earliest performances in Snow White where she started as one of the Lilac flowers in the garden scene and in subsequent performances appears as a bunny, a bird and a squirrel, all at an early age. In later years she danced both solo and partner roles as the production required gaining stage experience and confidence in her technique. The role of Little Red Riding Hood from Sleeping Beauty included in the selection below is a delight to watch. The Neapolitan or Italian dance and the Petite Pas de Quatre(Swan Lake 2) from Swan Lake are ensemble pieces that require an extra degree of performance skill, the dancers have to all stay together and in the latter piece they hold hands while executing some difficult dance steps. For the Italian dance I have included the whole dance selection (Swan Lake 3).
