Desktop Wallpaper



Desktop wallpaper is the image the appears on your computer screen as background behind the icons that launch applications. Now you can have a computer screen customized with images from Conejo Civic Ballet Company performances. The images are free for you to download and come in four sizes; 1600x1200, 1152x864, 1024x768, and 800x600. The numbers are pixels across x pixels up and down on your screen. Most of the images are darker than what you might normally think is ideal because that is what appears to work best for desktop backgrounds.

Finding Your Screen Resolution

So which size is right for you? It depends on the screen resolution that you are running. If you have a PC running Windows, right click on the desktop, select and open the Properties menu item. Click on the Settings tab and the screen resolution should be given on this tab.

Installing Background Image

To set the image you have selected as your background, first click on the resolution selector next to the thumbnail image below. Another window will open with the picture you have selected. Right-click on this image (or control-click on a Macintosh)and from the menu, select the option Set as Background or Set as Wallpaper. The image should now appear on your desktop.
