Welcome to Ballet Arts!
Ballet Arts has provided dance education in the Conejo Valley for over 40 years (since 1962). We have classes in Ballet, Jazz and Tap for all ages, young and adult alike. Ballet Arts is competition-free; that is not to say our students are not competitive, just that we do not promote sports-like competitions that are more lucrative than educational. Rather our dance education is centered around stage performance. Professional quality dance productions with Conejo Civic Ballet Company provide students with theater experience and the opportunity to refine their dance technique. In the process they develop technical and social skills needed for collective participation towards a common goal. We feel these skills are more valuable to the community and to the individual. And besides, even though preparing for a major full-length ballet performance is hard work, our students find out that it is a lot of fun - fun that they share with other dancers.
While our core programs are in ballet, we also offer increasingly popular classes in jazz, modern, tap and hip hop. To get some idea of the differences in these dance forms we have included a video player above with four selections, ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. (Beware that these video clips last 2-3 minutes and are between 5 and 8 MB in size so if you have a dialup connection the download time could be unbearably long.)
For those that just want some muscle toning and exercise we offer dancer's exercise classes. Finally we have special programs for the youngest members of our dance community starting at age 3 and also for adults who find they just can not live without dance or want to start learning now. So whatever your age, come and join us in a dance class just for you.
Rates for our classes vary depending on how many classes a week the student attends. See the Classes page for pricing details. For core ballet students who wish to perform with Conejo Civic Ballet Company the addition costs are:
- Performance Fee: $85 per production (all performances)
- Costume Fee: No special fee however, student must have nude leotard liner, garment bag, tights and shoes.
- Ticket Purchases: No minimum.

Please note: The tabs at the top of the page open collections of web pages. The Performances tab will take you to web pages that show pictures and video of recent live dance performances - after all, dance is a performing art and we would not want you to miss any of the enjoyment. The Dancewear page will take you to a description of dancewear with prices offered at Ballet Arts Dancewear store. The Starlight tab is special. Here we highlight some of the talented young dancers that have danced in Conejo Civic Ballet Company productions.
In April of 2005 we opened a dancewear store next to our Ballet Arts studios. You will find leotards, tights, skirts, pants and tops, ballet shoes and foot care products in Ballet Arts Dancewear at unbeatable prices. For advanced ballet students, we have added Grishko "Ulanova", "2007" , and "2007Pro" pointe shoes to our product line at affordable prices.
Have A Ball! - Ballet Arts introduces a program of medicine and stability ball core training. A great alternative exercise and an affordable way to work with a certified personal trainer. Fall classes are limited to 14 per class and will be held Mondays and Fridays at 10:00 - 11:00am. The fee is $100/month and all equipment is provided. So, if you are ready for a great workout, come and ... Have A Ball!
Conejo Calendar Feature - One of our faculty, Anzhela Martynava, was featured in a front page article in the current issue of Conejo Calendar. Anzhela joined Ballet Arts about a year ago and has been attracting notice for her special talent with training our youngest dancers. She was trained in Belarus as a ballet dancer and danced professional for seven years with the Meshta Troupe-Minsk. What may not occur to most people who have only seen Anzhela training our youngest dancers is that she is equally at home training our advanced students or performing on stage. At Ballet Arts we look for the very best dancers to join our faculty and in Anzhela we have found another great member of the Ballet Arts family.
New Musical Theater Program - Ballet Arts is starting a new program in Musical Theater. The program includes:
- Acting - Improv, Scene Study, Character Analysis
- Voice - Performance Technique - Diction, Projection, Presentation

If you are considering a career in the performing arts or just want to have fun with others, this is the class for you. Catrina Quintanilla will be teaching the program on Saturdays at 1:00-2:00pm and 2:00-3:30pm. Check out our Faculty page for more information about Catrina.
Enrollment for the Musical Theater program is starting now. The pricing follows our regular progressive tuition structure for our dance classes (cost per hour declines with the number of hours per week purchased) and Musical Theater can be combined with other dance classes.
